I found some great books today. My friends from Silly Dilly Tot Spot have given me Travels with Charlie: Way Out West  and Travels with Charlie Down South by Miles Backer. Both are great reggional picture books with lots of fun facts on each state. There is even a find Charlie feature, Charlie is hidden in different landmarks! We also got Tour America by Diane Seibert. The are wonderful poems and beautiful artwork on each state. They feature odd landmarks. We read a couple aloud, and they were a hit.  These are only a few of the books that we will readalong the way. Please feel free to suggest any books that you think would be good to share!

We have already received 1,000 books from our friends at First Book this week. 500 of them are spanish language titles that will be given out prior to the holiday break. We are well on target to our 35,000 books distributed withinn the community goal for 2007/2008.

Welcome to Page Pals. To all of you who will be following our cross country trip this Summer, we are excited to have you with us. Though our trip doesn't start until May 15th 2007, we are beginning preparations now and encourage your feedback. Through this blog, you will be able to meet some of the kids we see on our trip, learn about the books we will read together, and exchange your thoughts and ideas. By the end of this week, we will have the details of Bess' Great American Book Drive posted on our website at www.bessthebookbus.org. We will also be adding an interactive map in May that will detail daily travels.
